‘LINC’ing Homeless to Needed Services
Local Initiatives Navigation Center (L.I.N.C.) partners with Bethlehem Center
One of our newest partnerships at the Bethlehem Center is making big differences in the homeless community, one person at a time.
Led by the Kings Tulare Homeless Alliance, the Local Initiatives Navigation Center (LINC) calls the Bethlehem Center home each week and sets up an efficient and powerful agency “fair” that walks individuals through the process of applying for much needed services. From urgent housing assistance to Veterans services and more, between 15 and 20 agencies set up shop in the Bethlehem Center dining area and get to work.
Participants in this program are selected based on the urgency of their need, and are often in crisis, and unable to navigate the system on their own.
The Bethlehem Center has housed the LINC program since May of 2018, and a snapshot of the past two months paints a picture of what the LINC team has accomplished since then. In just two sessions in November and December, the LINC team serviced 55 attendees. Sixteen people received Mental Health Services, eight signed up for Veterans Services, 12 received Social Service Insurance Advocacy, 9 were assisted by Family Services of Tulare County and 23 were provided services by the Kings Tulare Homeless Alliance.
The Bethlehem Center is proud to be a part of this desperately-needed program that meticulously provides one-on-one assistance to those who need help getting started in the long and complicated process of getting housing, food, job and veteran assistance.
To learn more about the program, please visit the Tulare Homeless Alliance website at kthomelessalliance.org.
The Bethlehem Center provides many services, but there are many services that the Bethlehem Center does not provide.
When people are looking for help, there is usually a resource out there that can assist you, whether it be utility assistance, pro bono legal services, or other matters.
We will try our best to direct you to the best possible resource.
